What we do

Established in 1978 by Ken Hanley, this unique business specialises in the complete design, manufacture and supply of plastic injection mould tooling packages from initial product and tool design through to production.

This has seen more than 2000 satisfied customers within the Automotive, Building, Electrical, Fenestration and Food Industries.

The first impressions of Hanley Precision Tools are of excellence and sophistication. Its purpose built factory accommodation at the centre of the Glazpart 30,000 sq. ft facility located in Banbury, making accessibility to the UK and Europe simple and easy.

High speed machining, drilling and tapping

Hanley Precision Tools have a wide range of machines and technology offering our customers high accuracy 3D machining. Examples of our machine capabilities include:

DMC 1035 V – 3-axis machining center features ACE

This 3-axis machining center was Hanley Precision Tools first choice for the economic machining of components up to 1,000 kg. The C-frame design offers best conditions and allows large travels at small space requirements. This series has modern high-tech features such as machines equipped with:

  • 8,000 rpm motor spindle
  • Tool magazine with 20 pockets
  • double gripper, high rapid traverses and high-tech controls
  • 3D software in the standard version
MILLTAP 700 – Incredibly fast and consistently precise

The first joint development from DMG and MORI SEIKI is the MILLTAP 700 compact machining centre. This highly productive machine stands out with its patented:

  • Tool changes (0.9 sec tool change times)
  • Stable base construction for high-performance milling
  • As well as its cutting edge SIEMENS 840D solutionline Operate control technology
  • As the only machine in this segment, the MILLTAP 700 can be optionally equipped with a measuring system in X / Y / Z for the best repeatability and consistent precision

Wire EDM

Our in-house wire erosion department includes machines from Sodick, such as the latest AG600L. The Sodick machines include the latest Linear Motor Technology. The AG Series is where speed meets accuracy. The AG600L is a precision machining solution that is ideal for medium to large sized parts and die/molds that require close tolerances and fine surface finishes.

Spark Erosion EDM

Our investment into the latest spark erosion machines include Sodicks AG60L. Wire EDM features Sodick’s Linear MotorTechnology. The AG60L Sinker EDM features Sodick’s Linear MotorTechnology. The AG60L features Sodick’s latest EDM technology advancements and will ensure higher manufacturing efficiency.

Heavy duty precision machining

Our range of machines perfectly match Hanley Precision Tools mould tool manufacturing requirements for 3D machining, complimented by Master Cam X.

The DMC V ecoline defines a global standard and is now available with a new technology package: DMG SLIMline® Panel with SIEMENS 840D solution line as well as powerful feed motors for high rapid traverses and a fast motor spindle. These enhancements make tool changing faster for greater productivity.

The proven 8,000 rpm motor spindle is well suited for drilling operations with small tools in combination with the coolant supply system. It is also capable of high cutting speeds for use with modern tools to produce optimal surface finishes.
